The Rotary Club of south Bunbury was chartered in 1967.
The basis of the content of this website is the result of the excellent work of Rotarian and PHF Phil Bailey. To give an insight into his effort and accomplishment a brief quotation from Phil follows....
"It is with a great deal of satisfaction that I present the updated History of the Rotary Club of South Bunbury to the club. This project was first suggested to me by then President (1998-99) Ian Robertson as he felt that some of the records were deteriorating and that some of the material may not be retrievable in future years.
I must pay particular acknowledgement to the Club Historians who have preserved the existing records thus far. Jack McCULLOCH and Peter JOHNSON are two that stand out and I have drawn heavily from their material in the earlier year.
It has been a mammoth task taking over two years and about 200 hours of work to piece this one together.
I also take this opportunity to thank my wife Jean for work she put into retyping some of the fading documents and also for inserting much of the early history (Peter Johnson’s record) onto the Clubmate software program history section.
I trust the end product is a fair and accurate record of the years 1967 – 2001."
